This is the story of an Israeli “bear” society, a group of gays who have a bearish look and similar preferences. They are struggling with weight problems, addictions and loneliness. The film focuses on four main characters – Paz, Daniel, and the couple Motti and Motti – and follows them through a critical year of their lives when they are in the midst of a painful journey to survival.
Paz, the pillar of the group, embarks on a quest for a relationship. Tormented by his childhood memories of being battered, he does everything to prove to himself that even a bear can find love. His good friend Daniel is in a life-threatening situation because of his obesity, which is also threatening his dreams of dancing and acting. Even the idyllic relationship of the two Mottis, who have been married for almost a decade after breaking up their previous families, becomes unsettled when the bears enter the scene. Their stories are interwoven and create a tragic-comic film about an unusual group of people who ultimately learn to love themselves as they are.
