An original initiative centered on an annual conference and competition that encouraged the creation of original web series in Israel, held from 2013 to 2016. The Israeli Producers Association led the project in partnership with YouTube and the Ministry of Economy, with Ari Davidovich serving as the chief editor and host.
At the heart of the project was a competition to create unique video content for the internet. In its first year (2013), the competition was a great success, garnering international attention and coverage in Variety. Contestants submitted pilots for web series and trailers for films created especially for the internet. Finalists presented their proposals at a pitching event before an audience and a prestigious panel of judges. The winners received monetary prizes to help them continue creating original content for the web.
The conference held concurrently was a professional gathering for the web creators’ community, featuring speakers and guests from Israel and abroad, including web creators Cassey Neistat, Matt Koval, Matthew Clarke, Robby Douek, Tim Wilkerson, Jake Roper and Vania Heymann
